WT is one of two Lone Star Conference teams ranked in the latest AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) poll, announced Monday.? Midwestern State is 13th in the poll this week after being 13th last week.? For the second week in a row, no LSC team is among others receiving votes.

Pittsburg State (Kan.) continues to lead the poll with 29 of 30 first-place votes with a 5-0 record.? Colorado State-Pueblo is second this week following a 45-38 win in overtime versus Chadron State.? Winston-Salem State (N.C.) moves up to third, followed by Missouri Western State and New Haven (Conn.).? Grand Valley State, who was third last week, lost to Ferris State 40-24, dropping the Lakers to 14th.

West Alabama (18) fell out of the poll following its 42-27 loss to Midwestern State, along with Sioux Falls (23) and Humboldt State (24) all fell out of the rakings this week, while Harding (Ark.), North Carolina-Pembroke (24) and Shepherd (W.Va.) all entered the top 25 at 23-25, respectively.

In the D2Football.com poll, the Buffaloes are 10th this week, followed by Midwestern State at 11th.? Both teams moved up three spots in the poll from last week.? Wayne State (Mich.) and Emporia State (Kan.) enter the poll at 21st and 24th, respectively.

The Buffaloes host Abilene Christian for Homecoming Saturday at 6 p.m. at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
